For businesses dealing with complaints on a regular basis, we run events focused on specific product areas. These range from half-day seminars to full-day conferences.

Past subjects include motor, household and travel insurance and responsibility for goods and services paid for by credit. And we regularly ask businesses to provide feedback about subjects they would like us to share our insight on.

our road shows for smaller businesses

"Smaller businesses" are all those businesses which are covered by the ombudsman service but which generate few – if any – complaints needing our involvement to settle. But because they deal with us only rarely – if at all – these businesses are much less likely to know very much about how we work, or what to expect when a complaint is referred to us for resolution.

That's why we run these free, half day sessions across the UK – to help businesses with little experience of our service understand:

They are also a great opportunity for business people to meet some of our staff at first hand – including an ombudsman – and for us to hear from businesses about the things that concern them.

  • IFAs are particularly invited to the morning session on day one;
  • insurance brokers/intermediaries to the afternoon session on day one; and
  • consumer credit businesses to the morning session on day two.

By streaming the sessions in this way we hope to make each one more relevant to more of the audience, but all three sessions are open to all types of business.
