Not all lenders are the same. We see cases where some lenders try their very best to help their customers. But we also see some things that are simply wrong.

We don’t think it’s fair if your lender:

  • Charges you more than once for each missed payment.
  • Doesn’t help you get on top of things if you ask for help or “breathing space” to sort things out.
  • Makes repeated attempts to debit your account – and charges you each time.
  • Calls and texts you so much that it becomes harassment.
  • Speaks to anyone else but you about your debt – without your permission.
  • Sends you letters that are menacing or threatening.
  • Doesn’t tell you about the us – the ombudsman – they have to do this by law.
  • Deliberately puts you off asking for free help – like the ombudsman or a debt-advice charity.
