Hundreds of people falling victim to romance scams, the Financial Ombudsman Service warns

Between January 2025 and March 2026, we received over 500 complaints about romance scams.
Today the FCA announced the appointment of our new chair of the board, Baroness Zahida Manzoor CBE.
Baroness Manzoor will take up the role on 2 August 2019, succeeding Sir Nicholas Montagu who is stepping down after more than seven years in post.
