Information for customers of Indigo Michael Limited (known as SafetyNet and Tappily)

On 9 January 2023, Indigo Michael Limited (best known by its trading names, SafetyNet and Tappily) went into administration.

Due to the nature of the company, no protection is offered to consumers under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Unfortunately, when a business goes into administration we are required to stop considering complaints against it. So we’re unable to progress any new or existing complaints about Indigo Michael Limited at the moment.

What happens next depends upon the outcome of the administration:

  • If the firm is wound down and has money available after secured creditors are paid, we would expect to pass complaints to the administrators for them to assess, and we’ll do this as soon as we can. We’ll write to individual consumers and claims management companies to explain this, to let them know that they don’t need to do anything further at this stage, and to say the administrators will get in touch directly.
  • If the firm is wound down and there is no money available after secured creditors are paid, then creditors (including customers with complaints) will receive nothing.
  • If the firm comes out of administration, then we would expect to progress complaints once again.

There is more information available on the FCA’s website and the SafetyNet and Tappily websites.
