People contact us with a range of complaints about portfolio management agreements – whether they’re unhappy with the investments in the portfolio, or there are problems with how the portfolio has been administered. Or sometimes people think they shouldn’t have had a portfolio management agreement at all.
When we look into complaints about the management of a portfolio we consider things like what was agreed about how the portfolio would be managed – and whether the investments fit with what was agreed.
If someone thinks they shouldn’t have had a portfolio at all, we’ll consider how the portfolio was sold – and whether the advice they were given was suitable.
If we decide something’s gone wrong, we’ll consider whether someone’s lost out as a result – and what the business needs to do to put things right. This could mean putting someone in the position they’d be in if they’d received suitable advice – or if an admin error hadn’t happened.
