Questions about PPI
In November 2014, the Supreme Court ruled on a case between a consumer 'Mrs Plevin' and Paragon Personal Finance, about the sale of a PPI policy.
The court ruled that, under the Consumer Credit Act, the relationship between Paragon and Mrs Plevin was 'unfair' ' because the amount of commission included in the cost of the policy was at such a high level that it should have been made clear to her.
We wrote about the case on our website following the Supreme Court decision. We now consider whether the decision might make a difference to any of our PPI complaints and the FCA is also looking at the impact of the decision.
