Financial Ombudsman Service sets ambitious targets for case resolution in 2025/26

We will address significant demand and improve the efficiency of our case resolution processes, according to plans for the year ahead published today.
Today we've published data showing the number of complaints we received between April and June 2019.
In the first three months of this financial year we received 136,681 new enquiries and 70,304 new complaints – with 12,538 complaints passed to an ombudsman for a final decision. On average, we upheld 30% of the complaints we resolved. View the full data on our product complaints data page.
We've also published, for the first time, the complaints we received about claims management companies (CMCs), since becoming responsible for complaints about CMCs in April 2019. You can see this data on our Claims Management Ombudsman website.

From 1 April 2025, professional representatives will be charged £250 to refer a case to our service due to our new charging regime.
